Erika Wulff Jones, the wife of right-wing conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, was arrested on Christmas Eve on a domestic violence charge. Her husband says it is due to a “medication imbalance.“
Sheriff’s deputies took Erika Wulff Jones into custody and booked her into an Austin jail at around 8:45 p.m on Friday. “Jail records show the 43-year-old faces misdemeanor charges of assault causing bodily injury to a family member and resisting arrest, search or transport,”
After spending her Christmas in custody, Erika was released on December 26 on $3,000 for each of the two charges.
What is known about the Current Arrest?
The Travis County Sheriff’s Office did not immediately respond to a request on Christmas Day for the report on Wulff Jones’ arrest. Neither an attorney for Wulff Jones did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Alex Jones declined to say whether he’d been injured or elaborate on what happened beyond that he believes it was related to his wife’s recent change of medication.
“It’s a private family matter that happened on Christmas Eve,” Jones told The Associated Press in a brief interview. “I love my wife and care about her and it appears to be some kind of medication imbalance.”
But sources say that there was an initial 911 call to the police in which Alex Jones told an emergency operator that there was a grave situation in which his wife had struck him over the head multiple times and was attempting to injure him with a polished club.
Suddenly when the police arrived home, Jones told them that his wife had hit him many times. There is news that his hair was all red and wet and there might have been a situation of violence. There are also rumors that the affidavit stated that Erika had hit him with her closed fists and beaten him with her open hands, in front of their small child.
There are reports that Erika doubted Alex was cheating with her and these talks led to further violence. The police affidavit says that Jones was in fear of his life.
Anyway, it has created a blast on social media platforms in which people are mocking Alex Jones for getting beaten up.
