What actually happened at the show, As a recurring watcher of the Game Show Network due to many childhood health issues, one of my lifelong dreams has been to be there on Wheel of Fortune. However, a small technical issue on the show just relieved a participant of a new Audi Q3 and I am wondering if the charm of the game show may have just ended this Christmas season.
Charlene Rubush entered the Bonus Round with $16,500 and had the opportunity to win the Audi mentioned above. The puzzle she asked was a part of the “What Are You Doing?” set. Rubush tried to answer “choosing the right card” and it was wrong. She changed her response to “choosing the right… word” moments before the buzzer went. That slight halt before “word” is what dismissed her of a new car.

Remarks of the Host
Pat Sajak, the host of the show told Rubush,“You know, this one’s tough because you said all the right words, including the word ‘word,’ but as you know, it’s gotta be more or less continuous. We’ll allow for a little pause, but not four or five seconds. I’m sorry. You did a good job in getting it, but we can’t give you the prize, and it was the Audi.”
Wondering about losing out on a new car because of a few seconds. I, for instance, would be infuriated- although not as irritated as I could have been after knowing that Rubush still received $16,500 in cash from the show and an amazing holiday. A nice Audi Q3 SUV, whose starting price is more than $35,000 would have been quite a great inclusion to already-handsome prize money.
Social Media Response
People on social media are requesting that Audi send Rubush a car to make up for Wheel of Fortune’s mistake, which would definitely be a great gesture from the German automobile company this holiday season.
