Three are charged in a violent home burglary

The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office has arrested three are charged in a violent home burglary in which 2 shots were fired.

On the 22nd of October. 22nd, deputies went to a home located on Church Street in East Rockingham for a possible robbery.

The victim claimed that a woman knocked at his door and demanded an Uber. After the victim went to open his door two males ran at him.

According to the press release, two men began to assault the victim, demanding cash. They stole $600 cash along with a laptop computer along with a cell phone and the 9mm handgun.

Investigators uncovered shell casings from which they found two shots during the theft.

The lady who approached the door was recognized by the name of Amy Lynn Parker Smith, 42, from Rockingham.

Boyce Edward Harrington 35 as well as Coray Austin Griffin 24 were identified by the police. A minor female was also identified as a suspect.

Three suspects were identified and detained at the Rockingham motel.

Smith was detained and charged with robbery with a hazardous weapon, breaking into in order to intimidate an individual, conspiring to be a robber, assault with an explosive weapon, theft of a firearm. He was served with warrants for outstanding arrests for Montgomery as well as Moore County.

Harrington along with Griffin were accused of Robbery using a dangerous weapon, breaking into to frighten and intimidate as well as larceny with a firearm and assault with a dangerous weapon.

Three suspects were taken to the Richmond County Jail under a $100,000 bond.
