31 injured in roller coaster crash at Legoland Germany

Dozens of individuals were injured on a ride at a carnival in Germany on Thursday, police said. The incident happened at a Legoland park in Günzburg in Bavaria without further ado before 2 p.m. neighborhood time, when two trains on a roller coaster impacted, nearby police said in a statement. The mishap happened when one train on the roller coaster halted, and a train behind it didn’t slow down completely, crashing into it, police said.

At least 31 individuals were injured in the mishap, including one harshly, a nearby police representative affirmed to ABC News. Among them, 16 individuals were shipped to the clinic, while 15 were surveyed nearby and cleared to return home, police said. Those injured included 10 kids, one youngster, and 20 grown-ups, police said.

In total, 38 individuals were on the trains, Legoland Deutschland said. Three salvage helicopters answered the scene as a safeguard yet were not utilized, police said. All travelers were taken out from the ride, which will remain shut for the present, police said. The public examiner’s office in Memmingen is investigating the reason for the mishap, police said. Investigators will be on the scene Friday, police said. In a statement, Legoland Deutschland Divisional Director Manuela Stone expressed gratitude toward crisis staff for their reaction and wished everybody involved a “speedy recuperation.” Last week, an individual kicked the bucket in a roller coaster mishap at another German carnival, Klotti Park, subsequent to falling off the ride, authorities said. Specialists are investigating the reason for the mishap.

According to the recreation area, the mishap occurred after two rollercoaster trains slammed into one another. The incident occurred on the Fire Dragon ride at the recreation resort, which is close to Gunzburg in Bavaria. Three helicopters were sent to the scene, German media reports.
