It’s also incorrect to analyze an unrelated sequence of mass shootings that ranged all the way from Southern California to Northern California in the last few days and claim that the gun laws aren’t working for everyone.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom, who was looking at even more gun control measures prior to the shootings, made a statement about the way his efforts are hindered through the government of the United States as well as the Supreme Court.

“The Second Amendment is becoming an unenforceable pact,” Newsom told CBS News, although Newsom also said he is in favor of the right to bear arms. “I am not in any ideological conflict to someone legally and responsibly having firearms, and also undergoing background checks, and getting trained and making sure that the firearms are locked to ensure that their child doesn’t shoot themselves or their beloved one.”

He stated that all countries have mental health issues, however, only the US has a constant mass shootings epidemic.

“There’s an underlying pattern within America. United States of America – mass shootings that does not exist elsewhere around the globe,” he said, suggesting that perhaps safety advocates should be more focused on clips with a large capacity. “Just insane. There’s absolutely no reason for it. Period. Complete stop.” the man declared.

In recognition that gun rights advocates might consider his attempts to pass new laws as a restriction on their rights, Newsom preemptively pushed back.

“I simply would like to get rid of weapons of war that are not legal in the streets in California and should be legal throughout all of the United States,” he stated.
