Peacock announced that the teen drama series “One of Us is Lying” has been renewed for a second season.
“One of Us is Lying” is an American young adult mystery drama based on a novel by Karen M. McManus’. It is developed by Erica Saleh. She is also one of the executive producers of the show along with Jennifer Morrison, John Sacchi, and Matt Groesch.
One of Us Is Lying – Plot
It is a story of what happens when five high schoolers walk into detention and only four make it out alive. Everyone is a suspect and everyone has something to hide. The story revolves around figuring out who murdered Simon. He has a blog called About What where he releases all the scandalous information about his classmates.
The show begins by letting us know that Simon has serious dirt on four people on just the first day of school. Simon gets poisoned while in detention because he has a peanut allergy and Season 1 follows this mysterious demise of Simon.
The main suspects are Bronwyn, the girl who might fail out, Addie the cheater, bad-boy drug dealer Nate and Cooper, the closeted Jock.
One of Us Is Lying Season 2 – Number of Episodes
The first season has 8 episodes and the last one premiered on October 21, 2021. The number of episodes of the second season is not confirmed yet
One of Us Is Lying Season 2 – Release date
There is no concrete date for the release of the second season. Anyway, it will be released around 2022, as per the reports.
One of Us Is Lying Season 2 – Cast
Mark McKenna, Cooper van Grootel, Annalisa Cochrane, Chibuikem Uche, Marian Tejada, Jessica Mcleod, Melissa Collazo, and Barret Carnahan are the main cast of the show. Hopefully, they will continue in the renewed season also.
Ian Hultquist is doing the music and is presented by UCP, a division of Universal Studio Group, and John Sacchi’s 5 More Minutes Productions.

One of Us is Lying was the best seller of teenage fiction and received several accolades including 166 weeks marking on the New York Times bestseller list. A sequel, One of Us is Next was published on January 7, 2020. The television adaptation premiered on October 7, 2021. On several occasions, it has been described as a cross between The Breakfast Club and Pretty Little liars.
