The Last of Us – Release Date
We don’t have a concrete release date. But it is supposed to get released around the end of 2022 or the beginning of 2023. One of the directors Kantemir Balagov has listed 2022 as the release date on their Instagram page. The show has already begun filming and there have been some leaked snaps from the set also.
The Last of Us – Plot
The only thing we know about the series so far is what HBO stated through the synopsis of the series. According to them, the story takes place 20 years after modern civilization has been destroyed. Joel, a hardened survivor is hired to smuggle Ellie, a 14-year-old teenager out of an oppressive quarantine zone. It then develops into brutal situations and breathtaking moments. It becomes a heartbreaking journey as both must traverse across the US and depend on each other for their survival.
It’s also been revealed that this new HBO series is said to adapt the original game and all of its events. But we could also see some content from its sequel The Last of Us Two, toward the end. The most likely thing is that the second series will take place through the sequel storyline or possibly even do its own thing.
According to the report, future seasons are a possibility. This means that this is unlikely to be a Chernobyl-style miniseries, but instead, one that will stretch out over several years. The first season is set to last for 10 episodes. It is not yet known if the first season will cover the entirety of the events of the first game. Co-creator Craig Mazine has also hinted that The Last of Us HBO series will be a definitive version of the story of the game.
The Last of Us – Cast
“The Last of Us” cast also includes Gabriel Luna as Tommy Miller, Merle Dandridge as Marlene, Jeffrey Pierce as Perry, Anna Torv as Tess, Nico Parker as Sarah Miller, Murray Bartlett as Frank, and Nick Offerman as Bill.
