Joe Gatto, one of the popular stars of the TruTv franchise series Impractical Jokers Star Joe Gatto Announces that he is leaving the prank show after a decade-long run.
Joe Gatto posted this shocking news on Instagram yesterday in a note that addressed the challenges he was facing. He also made a promise to his fans that he would create new ways to entertain them.
“Sorry in advance for the long and more serious-than-usual note below, I just wanted to let you all know that I will no longer be involved with Impractical Jokers,” he wrote. “Alongside my friends, I’ve devoted a decade of my life to building this franchise and couldn’t be prouder of what has been accomplished. However, due to some issues in my personal life, I have to step away. Bessy and I have decided to amicably part ways, so now I need to focus on being the best father and co-parent to our two incredible kids”.
He continued, “Outside of my family, my relationships with Murr, Q, and Sal have been the most important in my life. I know they will continue to make the world laugh. And even though the four of us are the ones who you all see, this show is only possible due to the hard work of the talented crew members who work behind the scenes. I am very thankful to have worked with each and every one of them.”
Parting away with Bessy
Bessy Gatto also shared the news in a post on her own Instagram page and wrote: “With love and respect, we have decided to separate.”
Both of them have been together for more than ten years and had their wedding in 2013. Before the couple officially married, Bessy lived with Joe and fellow Impractical Jokers star James Murray and moved in with them in 2010.
Joe and Bessy were blessed with two children. The eldest daughter Milana Francis Gatto was born in 2015. The couple had their son 2 years later. Remington Joseph Gatto or Remo was born in 2017.

Joe and Bessy were also famous for their love of pets. Their home had lots of dogs that were rescued. Several photoshoots with his pets went viral on social media.
The future of the Show
Joe Gatto’s departure was unexpected and how it will affect the future shows of the troupe is unclear. The stars of the long-running TruTV series struck a first-look deal with WarnerMedia at the beginning of 2021. The famous pranksters this year had their flagship entertainment show renewed for a tenth season. The future of this agreement is also unknown.
The rest of the members shared a statement saying that “Impractical Jokers” will keep going without Gatto, and they’ll resume making a “new chapter” in January.
“Hi everyone, so here we are…After all these years together, we never imagined making ‘Impractical Jokers’ without Joe. While we are saddened to see him go, we want to keep making people laugh, keep our relationship working with the members of our team that we consider family. With the support of our fans, we’ll get back to making a new chapter of ‘Impractical Jokers’ in January,” Murray, Quinn, and Vulcano said in a statement.
Impractical Jokers
Impractical Jokers, an American hidden camera reality show produced by NorthSouth Productions. It premiered on truTV on December 15, 2011, starring the four members Joe Gatto, James Murray, Brian Q Quinn, and Sal Vulcano. It also occasionally airs on TBS.
Tru tv’s hidden camera prank show impractical jokers has been delighting fans of hidden camera comedy since 2011. These four of them are high school buddies. These long-term friends were born within nine months of each other on Staten Island and met as teens at an all-boys Catholic high school. This was the perfect ground on which the pranksters were fine-tuned.
Murray says their high school shenanigans helped shape their specialized skill set making them well practiced in the art of pranking. Then in 1999, the guys formed a comedy troupe called the Tenderloins. Fast forward to 2007, when the four friends entered the Carson Daly – curated NBC online comedy video competition It’s your show. Their entry “ time thugs’ ‘ an infomercial spoof about sometimes hopping goons that can fix your past helped nab them the top prize.
After that, the guys decide to come up with an upside-down hidden camera show called Impractical Jokers.
The Tenderloins say that they don’t consider impractical jokers a reality show or even necessarily a prank show, but instead just a platform for their comedy.
