The clash between Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel has been turning into stormy situations for the past few weeks.
Recently The feud came to the media attention when in a CNN interview held last Wednesday, Dwayne Johnson commented about the Instagram post made by Vin Diesel in late November.
Dwayne said, “I was very surprised by Vin’s recent post. This past June, when Vin and I connected not over social media, I told him directly – and privately – that I would not be returning to the franchise.”
The latest Instagram Post
Vin Diesel posted an emotional post on his Instagram back in November and asked Dwayne to rejoin the franchise, saying “My little brother Dwayne… the time has come. The world awaits the finale of Fast 10.”
He then got sentimental and said, “As you know, my children refer to you as Uncle Dwayne in my house. There is not a holiday that goes by that they and you don’t send well wishes… but the time has come. Legacy awaits. I told you years ago that I was going to fulfil my promise to Pablo. I swore that we would reach and manifest the best Fast in the finale that is 10! I say this out of love… but you must show up, do not leave the franchise idle, you have a very important role to play. Hobbs can’t be played by any other. I hope that you rise to the occasion and fulfil your destiny.”
This content was then removed from his Instagram page.
Dwayne went on to say that Vin’s post was ‘an example of his manipulation’. He said, “Vin’s recent public post was an example of his manipulation. I didn’t like that he brought up his children in the post, as well as Paul Walker’s death. Leave them out of it. We had spoken months ago about this and came to a clear understanding.”
The Fast and Furious Clash
Vin Diesel, who is the producer of Fast and Furious the franchise and popular American actor and Fast and Furious star Dwayne Johnson was having issues since 2016 when they were filming the eighth instalment of the movie series-The Fate of the Furious
The two action stars made their first onscreen appearance together in 2011’s Fast Five, in which the former wrestler joined the already long-running franchise as Luke Hobbs, as an intelligent special agent.
A source close to the production says that there was intense tension between the two of them over lots of issues. Rumours say that Vin was having problems with Dwayne because he keeps coming late for the shoot. Sometimes because of this irregular schedule often shoots get delayed and production goes lagging. Diesel’s camp claimed that Johnson was being a diva on the sets.
Then contrary reports emerged indicating that it was diesel who was the true diva on the sets. Sources told that the production crew for Fast 8 dug Johnson’s professionalism and deemed him easy to work with and super friendly on set.
Despite his fanbase, Dwayne soon exited the franchise, with his last appearance in the spin-off Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw in 2019.
Amid production on Fast 8, The Rock had shared an Instagram post to say that while we have respect for his female co-stars and some of the men he shared the screen with, some of the male co-stars were a different story altogether. Although he didn’t name names, he alleged that some conduct themselves as stand up men and true professionals, while others are don’t.
After the post accused stirred, some of the Fast 8 cast quickly recused themselves from the list of possible suspects. After that fans and media started cutting down the list, finally it became clear that the rock was referring to Vin Diesel in his statement.
Once the world found out that Diesel was the target of Johnson, the pair reportedly met to try and resolve their differences in a big-guy pow-wow. but according to TMZ, the chat didn’t go well. Sources say that both of the men could not come to peace because their egos were bigger than their biceps.
Conflicts reportedly stemmed from Diesel’s role as a producer on the film and decisions he made didn’t sit well with Johnson. So when a peace treaty was not inked between these two, that’s when the race to point fingers officially kicked off.
The latest development in this feud gives us a hint that there is no chance of Dawnye Johnson going back into the franchise in the near future. This hilarious clash in the industry is indeed an unfortunate incident for Fast and Furious fans all over the world.
