Until now, Viewers have no intention when we will get one more Star Wars movie from Disney, but there will be a plethora of TV shows to sustain in the intervening period. On Wednesday, Disney made public the release date for Obi-Wan Kenobi. The next Star Wars spinoff series will premiere on Disney Plus on the 25th of May.
The limited series will run for six episodes. Firstly, Disney thought to give artificial respiration to Kenobi in a movie titled Obi-Wan: A Star Wars Story. Disney would discard that plan when it abandoned all of the spinoff movies after Solo: A Star Wars Story bombed. Then, in August 2019, Disney started reaching an agreement with Ewan McGregor to star in an Obi-Wan Kenobi series on Disney Plus.
Stars and Co-stars
Obi-Wan Kenobi will star Ewan McGregor as the title character. Other featuring includes Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell, and Benny Safdie. Edgerton and Piesse.
Co-starring in “Obi-Wan Kenobi” will be Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell, and Benny Safdie. Deborah Chow will be the director of the series and also appear as an executive producer with Lucasfilm chief Kathleen Kennedy, Michelle Rejwan, Ewan McGregor, and Joby Harold.
McGregor came into view at Disney’s D23 Expo later that same month to verify that he would repeat the role in an approaching or the following show. Pre-production started in January of 2020, but reports began to move around, specifying Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy was sad with the script.

As a consequence, Disney put the series on hold while it looked for new writers. Then the COVID – 19 pandemic has a negative effect on it. After a year, Disney and Lucasfilm are going to release the first episode of the show on Disney Plus. 25th of May, 2022 will be the 45th anniversary of the release of the original Star Wars.

Obi-Wan Kenobi is a slice of a growing collection of live-action Star Wars shows produced for Disney’s streaming service. These stopped with 2019’s The Mandalorian, which was carried out with The Book of Boba Fett in late 2021. Other shows announced are inclusive of Andor, approaching Rogue One’s Cassian Andor, Ahsoka, Lando, and The Acolyte, many of which are set to tell interrelated stories with similar characters reprising their roles.
