The actor Jeremy Renner suffered “blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries” following an New Year’s Day snow plowing accident an official for the actor told reporters on Monday evening.
Renner was treated for surgery on Monday on Monday and “remains in the intensive care unit in critical but stable condition,” the spokesperson for the hospital said.
“Jeremy’s family would like to express their gratitude to the incredible doctors and nurses looking after him, Truckee Meadows Fire and Rescue, Washoe County Sheriff, Reno City Mayor Hillary Schieve and the Carano and Murdock families,” the statement of his representative read. “They are also tremendously overwhelmed and appreciative of the outpouring of love and support from his fans.”
The “Hawkeye” actor has so only had two surgeries to repair injuries he sustained during the crash, an insider who knows the actor previously informed StarBulletin.
“His injuries are extensive,” they claimed.
Renner was admitted to hospital in critical condition following suffering injuries in Nevada His publicist told StarBulletinearlier on Monday.
“As of now, we can confirm Jeremy is in critical but stable condition with injuries suffered after experiencing a weather related accident while plowing snow earlier today,” Sam Mast told StarBulletin in an interview. “His family is with him and he is receiving excellent care.”
Officers were called to the scene of a “traumatic injury” in the area of Mount Rose Highway in Reno according to a press statement from Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, who previously stated that the Academy Award-nominated actress was a resident of the community.
The sheriff’s office was unable to give details about the severity of the injuries sustained by Renner or what could have led to the accident.
Family members are expected make a statement by Monday night according to a source intimate with the actor told.
Deputies worked the Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District and REMSA Health to organize for medical transport for Renner via a care flight to a local hospital according to the press release.
Renner is a star in”The Mayor of Kingstown,” the Paramount+ series “Mayor of Kingstown” and has appeared in a variety of Marvel Cinematic Universe films – as Hawkeye is the sole person who was involved in the incident according to officials.
The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Major Accident Investigation Team is investigating the incident.
Renner has shared a variety of images and videos from his social media accounts , showing his snowy surroundings.
A picture from last year’s post to his Instagram account depicts a cluster of trees located in an area that had significant snowfall.
“How do you be feeling if your driveway appeared like this? What would you think?” his caption reads. “I’m so happy Mother Nature dictates my day!”
In the video posted two weeks ago and included the highlights of his holidays on Instagram Renner seems to drive a snow plowing with the caption “pave new paths, holiday adventures.”
Another photo from last week shows snow being cleared with the caption “Nearly done with sledding hill for the kids.”
