Man killed after shooting inside the Mall at Prince George’s County, police say

A man is dead after a shooting inside a Mall in Prince George’s county Thursday afternoon, as indicated by authorities. The Hyattsville Police Department confirms to FOX 5 that officers responded to a shooting at the Mall of Prince George’s located at 3500 East-West Highway in Hyattsville around 4 p.m. Thursday. Police say once officers showed up at the scene, they found a man who had been shot inside the mall’s food court. He was articulated dead at the scene.

Investigators have not distinguished the person in question. Investigators accept that the shooting was not an irregular demonstration, but rather have not reported a thought process. They say the scene has been secured and there is no continuous threat. Detectives are attempting to establish information on a suspect or suspects. Police have not recognized the man, saying they need to respect the casualty’s loved ones. “I come to our city furious and disappointed that a man lost his life today in our mall,” said Hyattsville Police Chief Jarod Towers.” Mall at Prince George’s.

No suspect information has been released except for officials say detectives are attempting to distinguish any possible suspect(s). As per Hyattsville Police, there is no dynamic threat at the mall at this time, yet it will stay closed for the afternoon. Officers said others were also harmed while individuals were attempting to run out of the mall.

One of those individuals was 77-year-old Victoria Edusei. Her stick was thumped from her hands as individuals attempted to evacuate out of the food court. Prince George’s county – She tumbled to the ground and cut her face. Fortunately, a decent Samaritan came to her guide. Metro trains were single following at the Prince George’s Plaza station while MTPD assisted with the investigation. This is the second crime revealed at the Mall at Prince George’s this year. 

As per Prince George’s County Police, 22-year-old Daquan Dockery was killed in a shooting at the shopping mall in March. Detectives at the time said they didn’t accept that Dockery’s death was irregular wrongdoing.
