A man who is accused of torturing his girlfriend police believe is using dating apps to track down people who can assist him in evading police is currently in custody after a manhunt, Oregon police said.
“After an extensive [and lengthy] conflict, Benjamin Foster is in custody. A press conference is scheduled to be held next week with additional details,” the Grants Pass Police Department stated.

Benjamin Obadiah Foster, 36 is wanted in connection with the attempted murder of a child, abduction, and assault, according to police.
Foster is a “extremely risky suspect” police warned the public with the news release on Sunday at a time when Foster was still on the loose.
A man they suspect is Foster was seen walking small dogs within Grants Pass. Grants Pass area Tuesday morning according to the department.
“It’s basically an all-hands-on-deck type of task,” Grants Pass Police Chief Warren Hensman told ABC News. “We are focused on what we do.”
Police began their search in search of Foster in January. 24, following a response to a residence within Grants Pass for an assault. In the house, police discovered a woman in serious condition , who was “bound and severely battered into unconsciousness” officers said.
The suspect fled the scene prior to the arrival of police; however, police identified him as Foster and was from Wolf Creek, police said.

“The scene was awful,” Hensman told ABC News. “This is a criminal who must be found.”
Hensman said to reporters during the press conference on the 26th of January. 26 that they were still trying to establish a timeframe, however, he said that the attack was believed to have taken place over the course of a “protracted duration.” He did not go into detail about the specifics of the suspect’s relationship to the victim.
In the course of the hunt, police found Foster’s vehicle and issued the search warrant at the home of Wolf Creek last week. The suspect “evaded capture and probably was assisted in fleeing the region,” police said.
“The investigation has discovered that the suspect is active in using dating apps on the internet to reach out to unsuspecting people who could be lured to assist in the suspect’s escape or as victims in the future,” police said.
In the course of the raid on the home at the time, a woman of 68 years old, Tina Marie Jones, was arrested on suspicion of resisting prosecution. The woman is currently in custody at the Josephine County Jail.
The victim, who was identified by her family members as Justine Siemens, was escorted to a local hospital where she is currently on life support.
“She will come through this, for us as her parents, and we appeal to the world to bring her killer to justice,”” their family members said in an announcement.
