‘Beauty and the Beast’ Prequel Series Put on Hold at Disney Plus

Beauty and the Beast

Washington, February 11 (ANI): Disney Plus is not ongoing with its musical “Beauty and the Beast” spin-off series. As per the deadline, the prequel to the studios’ 2017 feature film has been put on hold amid detains with the creative elements and timetable and program challenges with its cast. Actors Luke Evans and Josh Gad were set to headline the series, repeating their roles as Gaston and LeFou.

The show was evolved and written by Gad and “Once Upon a Time” creators Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, with the trio serving as executive producers/co-showrunners. “Sadly, ‘Tis true. We made an effort to make it all work butin hurry it wasn’t meant to be for now. These characters and this story will live on, but from time to time the best aim and physical existence come into collision and nothing can be done,” Gad wrote on Twitter after news of the abandoned shoot broke.

Sources near to the streamer said that after a period of time, the show will be made though it is blurry and confused if the cast inclusive of the film stars Josh Gad and Luke Evans will be accessible when it comes about, reported The Hollywood Reporter. In March 2020, it was announced that the project would come into existence as a six-episode series that would give prominence to Gad and Evans delivering their roles as Gaston and LeFou individually, in an origin story for the much-loved characters.

Verifying the news on Twitter, Gad committed to the paper that, “Regretfully, it is in accordance with the reality that we exert ourselves to make it all work but under pressure it was not meant to be… for now. These characters and this story will live on, but on the odd occasion the best purpose and truth collide and nothing can be done”.

Making arrangements for the challenges with the cast is also a factor as some expertise had hard-outs for other projects dawning at the beginning of August. With the window of availability shrinking, Disney plis has chosen to put the series off for a later time. The pandemic, it is worth noting, has made the arrangements a significant challenge as actors, writers, directors, and factors like soundstage and location accessibility were turned upside down approaching the industry-wide production shutdown in 2020. It is confusing and not sure if the current cast will be able to come back when and if a new timeline reveals.
