Yakima police arrested man they believe was running a drug house

Yakima police arrested man they believe was running a drug house – Yakima police have arrested a Yakima man aged 43 who they claim was a nuisance in the neighborhood and selling drugs from his Garfield Avenue residence.

According to jail records, the man will appear in Yakima County Superior Court Monday to make a preliminary appearance after his Friday arrest for selling methamphetamine, fentanyl, possession and operating a drughouse.

Seely stated that “every time this guy has moved into the neighborhood, it has attracted a lot of homeless people, junk, and cars, with homeless persons living in the cars.”

Yakima police arrested man they believe was running a drug house

James Parks, a local resident, stated at the Oct. 4 council meeting there was a “grave issue” in the area. Parks stated that people were living in cars near the house and seemed to be coming to the house to get something.

“The community is afraid. Parks stated that there was a shooting and stabbing last week.

Seely stated that the police and code enforcement officers from the city were present almost every day to deal with violations. One example was a yard full of debris.

Seely stated that YPD’s Drug Enforcement Administration task team found the man selling methamphetamines and fentanyl out of the house. Task force members also made a few drug purchases.

Seely stated that police and code officers entered the house Friday and found drugs and weapons.
