Dallas County (CBSDFW.COM) A person has died following an “major accident” on I-35 Thursday night, authorities said.

Around 10:00 p.m. December. 23 officers were called to investigate a possible accident at the northbound end of I-35 from Medical District Drive and Wycliff Avenue.

The deputies who arrived discovered an unturned vehicle as well as an injured power pole.

One person is confirmed dead in the accident. The identity of the deceased has not yet been disclosed at this point.

Officials stated that I-35 was closed from about 4:23 a.m. because of debris in the roadway as well as the pole that was down.
