Following the August revisions, the U.S. 5th Circuit Court of Appeals stated that a federal district judge in Texas should examine the program once more. The ruling leaves the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program’s future uncertain for the time being. An advocate for the Immigrant Legal Resource Center, Veronica Garcia, stated, “It appears that the status quo for DACA remains.”

DACA was implemented by the administration of former President Obama, and it has faced numerous challenges in federal court.DACA was declared illegal by Texas-based U.S. District Judge Andrew Hanen last year. However, while the appeal was being considered, he maintained the program for those who had already benefited from it.
