The power balance in Congress is still in tension as voting continues after US midterm elections. Democrats have fought hard resistance to a few key House of Representatives races, slowing the initial Republican hopes for a "red red wave".  Republicans are still the most likely to be elected to this lower house of Congress. However, the race for the Senate is still far from being decided. Republicans require only one seat in order to gain control of the Senate.
