  • Go to the Amazon homepage on your PC.
  • Go to Accounts & Lists and then tap on Account.
  • Next, click on Login & Security at the top of the page.
  • Then click on the Edit button on Two-Step Verification Settings. From here, you will be asked to re-enter your password.
  • Click on Get Started and you will be led through the process of registering your phone number. The other option is for you to go to the preferred authenticator app and sync through a QR code.

You can also get it activated through the Amazon app on both Android and iOS operating systems. Tap on the hamburger-like menu on the left side of the screen and find Your Account > Login & Security. You will find the same two-step verification settings as on the web browser.

If you are doing it from the mobile app, then go to your privacy settings by tapping on the hamburger-like option in the upper right corner (if you have an Android phone) and lower right corner (if you have an Apple phone). Then scroll down to find Settings & Privacy. Next, tap on Settings to get to Security and Login, and then from there, tap on Use Two-Factor Authentication. You can go for text messages, an authenticator app, or a security key.

From the web browser, click on the down arrow in the upper right corner and click on Settings & Privacy > Privacy Shortcuts. Find Account Security and then click on Use Two-Factor Authentication.

How to Activate Two-Factor Authentication for Instagram

You can activate the two-factor authentication for Instagram through the web or mobile app.

From the mobile app, go to your Instagram profile, and tap on the hamburger-like icon in the upper right corner to open a list of options. Tap on Settings > Security and find Two-Factor Authentication option.

On the web, log in to your Instagram account. Go to profile, select Settings from the drop-down menu, and locate Privacy and Security. You can turn on the two-factor authentication feature from there.
