Historic NBA season: Only four teams are eliminated from the Playoffs with two weeks to go

Nba

This has never taken place in the entire history of the most prestigious basketball league in the entire globe. After the Bubble, the method for accessing the playoffs was altered with the introduction of the “Play-In” structure and the requirement that playoffs be played between seventh and tenth place to qualify.

It received a lot of criticism. LeBron James went as far as to declare in 2021 that the person who was responsible for coming up with that “sh*t” should be fired. Yet, this opens the door for more teams to compete for a spot in the playoffs. As a result, the final stretch of the season is going to be extremely challenging.

The Pelicans have risen and their win in Portland puts them in seventh (90-124), while the Lakers after losing to the Bulls have put themselves in a bit of a mess. The Timberwolves won their game against the Kings, 115-119, to improve their record to 39-37 and move into sixth place. The Thunder (104-127) and the Mavericks (127-104), who have some breathing room following their victory in Indiana, round out this group.

The East features a scenario that is more well-defined, despite the fact that some factors, such as the Magic’s final rush, aim to shake things up. According to Paolo Banchero, who was selected first overall in the team’s most recent draft, “they stated we were ranked.”

Nonetheless, a miracle is required for them (32 wins). The Bulls are now in 10th place and trail both the Wizards and the Pacers by three victories thanks to their record of 36 wins and 39 defeats. Even their defeat by the Los Angeles Clippers, which ended with a score of 124-112, should not disturb them.

In addition to the Playoffs, there are a number of other fronts that are now open. After falling behind the Bucks and the Celtics in the standings in the Eastern Conference, the Philadelphia 76ers now have to defend their position against the Cleveland Cavaliers, who are separated from them by just one victory.

But, a miracle is necessary in order for them to succeed (32 wins). As a result of their record of 36 wins and 39 losses, the Bulls are currently in 10th place, which is three victories behind both the Wizards and the Pacers, who are in 9th place. Although their loss to the Los Angeles Clippers, which had a final score of 124-112, should not be enough to shake their confidence.

There are now a number of other fronts that are open in addition to the Playoffs. The Philadelphia 76ers now have to defend their place against the Cleveland Cavaliers, who are only one victory ahead of them in the standings in the Eastern Conference. This is because the 76ers have fallen behind the Bucks and the Celtics in the standings in the Eastern Conference.
