Frank Ocean is no longer scheduled to perform as the headlining act for the second weekend of the Coachella Music and Arts Festival.

The musician was scheduled to perform on the opening weekend of the California event; but, his chaotic set left many of his admirers feeling let down and confused.

The onstage ice rink had to be melted due to a leg injury, according to representatives for the US star, who claimed that the injury was the reason for the last-minute adjustments to the act.

According to Variety magazine, the band Blink-182 will take the place of the celebrity on the bill.

The concert that Ocean gave in the United States last week was his first in the country in the past six years. The pandemic caused by the COVID-19 virus caused the cancellation of his performances at the festival that were scheduled for the year 2020.

Representatives for Ocean have issued a statement in which they claim the singer will not be performing at the upcoming weekend’s event due to medical advice.

“After suffering an injury to his leg on festival grounds in the week leading up to weekend one, Frank Ocean was unable to perform the intended show but was still intent on performing, and in 72 hours, the show was reworked out of necessity,” they stated. “After suffering an injury to his leg on festival grounds in the week leading up to weekend one, Frank Ocean was unable to perform the intended show but was still intent on performing.”

Because of two fractures and a sprain in his left leg, [Ocean] has been advised by his doctor not to participate in weekend two of the competition.

The rehearsals for his reappearance lasted months, but the show was frequently interrupted by pauses due to technical difficulties. The majority of the performance consisted of Ocean being hidden behind a screen, while the middle portion of the act had a DJ playing remixes of several of Ocean’s songs, such as Slide, Provider, and Lost.

A live blog that the Los Angeles Times maintained during the concert stated that “Ocean looks like he’s struggling up there.” “Nothing has yet achieved lift-off on a real groove, and the crowd is looking perplexed,” said the performer. This is so monotonous that it verges on being confusing.

The livestream of the show that had been planned to take place was also canceled, and because Ocean appeared on stage nearly an hour late, the concert was cut short when he went past the midnight limit that had been set for the festival.

In spite of the obstacles, there were a few shining moments, such as a revised version of “White Ferrari” and an ethereal performance of “Godspeed.”

Ocean devoted the event to the memory of his brother Ryan, who was killed in a vehicle accident when he was only 20 years old, three years ago.

He explained to those in attendance, “These past couple of years, my life has changed so much.” We spent a lot of time at this festival, both my brother and I. I detested being exposed to the dust, but somehow I always found myself in this location. I have the impression that I was forced to come here.

“I know that he would have been so excited to be here with all of us, and I want to say thank you for the support, the ears, and the love that you have shown over the course of all of this time,” she said.
