On the occasion of the Jump Festa ’22 event, the Chainsaw Man anime adaptation has finally found a release window. The event streamed a video that announced that the anime will premiere in 2022. The exact date and time at which it will be premiered are unknown.
Chainsaw Man is a Japanese action, horror-comedy manga series written and illustrated by Tatsuki Fujimoto. Part one of this manga series was serialized in 11 volumes between 2018 and 2020. It has been nominated for several awards. The series placed 2nd in the 5th Next Manga Awards print category, 27th manga Barcelona, 2021 Harvey award for best manga and so many others.
The anime television series is produced by MAPPA.

Chainsaw Man – Plot
Chainsaw man is a story that follows our main protagonist Denji. Denji is a teenager who has seen the most unpleasant sides of life and society.
In the world of Chainsaw man, we have a society that is a mix between humans and devils. Now, not in the sense where the population is an equal divide, but devils are a well-known presence in society that serves as a detriment and benefit to humans.
The devils in Chainsaw man while terrorizing humanity which is expected of devils, also serve a different purpose and that is siding the devil hunters through the use of contracts. The devil hunters as the name suggests are individuals who hunt devils.
Devil hunters belong to an organization for the most part called public safety, who take it upon themselves to track down and kill devils with the majority of them being humans. They make contracts with other devils through means of a price to gain their powers and battle on even ground. The price for the contract can be absolutely anything. It just depends on the type of devil they are dealing with.
The strength of a devil is determined by how much fear that devil’s name has incited around the world. A devil’s name exists in correlation to things that are in reality.
Denji is a teenager who had an unpleasant upbringing. Denji after losing his father as a young boy was forced to inherit his father’s debts to the Yakuza. After that Denji ended up becoming a devil hunter. Even though it is a high amount Denji remains optimistic and clung to his simple but respectable dreams. He hopes that one day he clears his debts and will be able to live the life he desires. However, being a devil hunter is a dangerous job.
With no money to spare, the main protagonist becomes a scrappy devil hunter with the help of his devil-dog companion, Pochita. After being killed on the job, Pochita makes a contract with Denji to become his new heart, ultimately turning him into the human-devil hybrid named “Chainsaw Man”.

There are other characters like Makima, who is a mysterious woman. She is the head of the public safety division and takes Denji as her human pet. She is a very cunning as well as intelligent authoritarian woman. Throughout the story, her original intentions and goals remain ambiguous. Sher gets finally killed by Denji and then reborn as an innocent child called Nayuta, whom Denji takes care of.
Aki Hayakawa is a public safety devil hunter under the Makimas squad. He is portrayed as a stoic and mature character. Later he gets killed during the fight between Makima and Gun Devil.
Power is also another devil hunter in the Makima squad. She loves violence and is sometimes childish as well as greedy. She cares for Denji and Aki and considers them as her friends. Later she is killed by Makima in front of Denji to break his spirit
There are other public safety hunters like Kishibe, who is considered the strongest devil hunter in the organization. Himeno, who was Aki’s partner, wears an eye patch and gets killed by a snake devil during a fight.
Quanxi, Santa Claus, Pochita, Katan man, Reze, Gun devil are also significant parts of the anime.
Fans across the world are waiting eagerly for the chainman television series. The anime series will be directed by Ryu Nakayama and Makoto Nakazono. It is scripted by famous Japanese screenwriter Hiroshi Seko. The music is done by Japanese composer and rock Musician Kensuke Ushio.
