Authorities disclose note found on Walmart shooter’s phone.

Officials said that the gunman responsible for the deadly attack at Walmart in Chesapeake this week purchased the handgun and left a death note detailing his grievances about people.

The note, which was found on the author’s phone, talks about God and the holy spirit. It also mentions how the author feels his “associates” are mocking him. Walmart refers to some employees as associates.

“The associates gave me evil twisted smiles, mocked and celebrated my downfall every day. The note states that they will suffer the same fate I did.

The note continues, “I wish that I could have saved everyone,” “My God, forgive me for what you’re going to do.”

The note was released by the city in a series of tweets. It also redacted the names of the victims. Police said that none of the victims were included in the list.

According to the city, there was no criminal record and the 9 mm weapon used in the shootings was legally bought Tuesday. The city tweeted that a search of the gunman’s home revealed a box of ammunition as well as “various items (box, receipt, and other paperwork)” in reference to the 9mm handgun.

Walmart responded to Walmart’s question about whether the gunman ever complained about his coworkers. We will continue to support our associates and grieving families through this difficult time.

Authorities continue to search for the motive behind the mass shooting and word of the note was spread. The city confirmed that two employees were still in hospital, with one being in critical condition.

“Today, we are only focused on Tuesday’s tragic incident, but the police investigation is continuing,” Chesapeake officials stated Thursday.

Randy Blevins (70), Lorenzo Gamble (43), Tyneka Johnson (22), Brian Pendleton (38), and Kellie Pyle (52) were killed. Fernando Chavez-Barron, a 16-year-old victim, was identified by the city.

The city of Chesapeake announced Friday that the emergency declaration “will allow funding to support recovery” will be confirmed by the city council.

Fernando was remembered as the outgoing

On Thanksgiving, the Hampton Roads community that is home to Chesapeake gathered outside Walmart to pray for all victims and pay special attention to Fernando. Many of the victims were familiar with the youngest, who had just begun working at the store. He used his first paycheck to buy a gift for his mother, his loved ones shared with CNN affiliate WTKR.

Authorities said that a 22-year old suspect killed five people and injured 19 others at a Colorado Springs LGBTQ nightclub. This was the second weekend of mourning for the Colorado community.

According to data from Gun Violence Archive (a non-profit that began keeping track of the incidents in 2014), the shootings have put the United States on a dangerous path to make 2022 the second most violent year for mass shootings.

President Joe Biden used the opportunity to condemn the violence in guns and urge Congress to join him to “get rid of assault weapons” like the one used by Colorado.

“It is sick that semi-automatic weapons can still be bought. It is just sick. It has no social redeeming worth – zero, none, not one, solitary reason for it,” Biden stated to reporters in Nantucket Massachusetts on Thursday, as he welcomed first responders.

Shooter “just started spraying”

Witnesses said they were shocked and disbelieving when they saw the gunman, a 31-year old overnight team leader who had worked at the store from 2010 – point a handgun at them. Police said he was carrying multiple magazines.

Kevin Harper, a Walmart employee, said that the shooter entered the breakroom and began firing immediately.

Harper said in a social media video, “He just came in there and started spraying.”

Officials from Chesapeake said that the shooter and two victims were found dead in the breakroom. Another victim was found in front of the store. Three other victims died at the hospital. Police said that the shooter committed suicide.

Jessie Wilczewski was a mother to a 15-month old girl. She had just started working at Walmart a few days before and was at a routine meeting in the break room at 10 p.m. When she saw the gunman standing in front of her. She said that her chest felt a little trembling and her ears began to ring as the gunshots erupted.

As the shooter fled the break room, the victim hid under a table and tried to remain silent while co-workers sat still on the ground or in chairs. She said that the sound of blood on the floor continued to haunt them the next day.

She said, “The sound is the droplets.” “It replays, replays, replays, replays and repeats.”

Later, the gunman returned to her and asked her to get up from under the table. She recalled that he had placed a gun on her forehead and asked her to leave. He pointed the gun at the ceiling.

She said that she had to touch the door because it was covered in blood. “I walked out of the double doors to see the aisles at Walmart and I had to touch the back.” “I remember just gripping my bag and thinking, “If he was going to shoot me in the back – well he’s going to have to try really difficult because I’m running,” and so I booked it.”

Briana Tyler, another recent hire, said that bullets flew just inches from her face.

Tyler stated, “All of the sudden you just hear pap pa pap pa pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa.” “People were just dropping to the ground. Everyone was gasping and screaming. He then walked off and continued shooting throughout the store.
